My father was an alcoholic and a drug addict. He took peyote one night and prayed to God to let him meet the right woman, the one that would save his life... The very next day he saw a beautiful glowing blond-haired woman, reading stories to a group of black kids outside of a fair ride. (he was a carny)... and he KNEW that he had found his angel. A couple years later, clean and sober, he convinced my mother to have me and I was born January 22nd 1985 in Louisville, KY. My mother passed away unexpectedly and tragically on Thanksgiving of 2007. RIP mom, our angel. November 28th 1950- Novemebr 22nd 2007. You were my best friend and very special to us all. She had a Livejournal. It was [info]starrshine1 =( I miss you, mommy.
I am diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. I am currently on meds/in therapy. I do BASE group ever Monday and I LOVE my psychiatrist. She is beautiful and amazing an a Harry Potter geek, like me. I'm lucky to have FINALLY found a good psychiatrist and everything.
I SUPPORT THE LEGALIZATION OF MARIJUANA. If for no other reason- ALCOHOL is a DANGEROUS and LEGAL drug. I figure, if it's going to be legal, then marijuana should be, as well. It's proven fact that marijuana is hardly harmful and it's worst side-effect is laziness. So yes, legalize pot already.
I'm an old school raver. A lot of my heart still lives within these events, yet I hardly "party" any longer due to responsibilities. It's been about 2 years since i last went to a rave, but that doesn't mean I don't miss it or desire a good show soon. My husband wants to wait until a few GOOD DJs come around or until we have the money to travel to a huge bomb-ass warehouse party..... no more VFWs for us.
Spiritually I can not label my religion. It's a mixture. I suppose he most I'll put in here is that my beliefs are sort of a mixture of New Age, Christianity, Shamanism, and Hinduism. I do not believe that God has a human-looking body or a body at all and I sort of believe that God is The Sun (for multiple reasons). I believe that God is the bright light you see at the end of the tunnel during a near death experience, the creator force that keeps us alive, and so forth.
I have 3 children and I'm an evil "moo"/"breeder." My oldest two are daughters, ages 7 and 4. While my youngest is my baby man, age 1 year old. They are pretty much my reason to live. Nothing, no euphoria, no connection with anyone, nothing on earth compares to the beauty that is being a parent, IMO. I am truly blessed. However, merely because I am a mother- That does NOT mean I have no interests of my own (which I think you can tell by now).
I'm pretty much a Cobra Starship groupie. lol. I'm not going to explain this one.
I was born in the year of the rat via Chinese astrology and am an Aquarius Sun and Moon via Western astrology.

Hi there I am under a different user name. I used to be geeky_gurl. But then decided on a new name change back in August. Am looking for some new friends here at DJ.
I'm in my early 40s, and love the internet and journal sites. Am married and proud to admit that. Recently my spouse and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. I've listed lots of interests in my profile. I do like to post pictures of whatever in my postings.
Likes: journals, digital photography, music (like most music, not fond of rap or jazz though), scrap booking, shopping, pogo games, Facebook, MSN, Yahoo, Aim, guitars, and lots more listed in my profile.
Dislikes: -people that judge a person by their age, skin, health or financial status.
-rude people.
-bank lineups.
Basically I write about day-to-day stuff. I don't update every day. I comment on a post when I feel it's fitting to. A little swearing here and there doesn't bother me.

This is to everyone who responded to my last post (der, that's what it says in the subject), just because it is easier than responding to everyone who commented.
If you want to add me as a friend there are just a FEW things you need to know about me before adding me, because as everyone knows, not everyone goes well together.
- I am bisexual. I have been with my boyfriend for 5 and a half years however. I sometimes talk about sexual things in my journal.
- I can get obsessed with things. I try not to be redundant, but mini-obsessions can make their way into my journal.
- I write about a LOT of different things in my journal. Sometimes I ramble, like a stream of concious. Sometimes it is just a little entry about what went on in my day. Every now and then I'm sure I write things that don't make sense, or only make sense to me.
- I am not politically correct. I am very blunt, and I can make some bad jokes and whatnot, however, I am not racist, nor does someone's sexuality effect my opinion of them. Sometimes just the way I write may not always be politically correct.
- I can get behind on things, but I always do my best to catch up, sometimes this makes me leave a lot of comments in one day if I have a day of catching up, for example.
- I will only add you if you will make effort to read at least some of my entries.
- I smoke pot often, drink very occasionally. Sometimes I do write about that.
- I REALLY like reading, writing, movies and music.
- I have some personality disorders. I don't write a lot about those, but if we become friends, I am sure you will learn more about it.
- I also have chronic pain, it is pretty much the same as the PDs. The only reason I mention this is because they are mentioned every now and then in my journal, and I am also on some controversial medication for both.
- This leads to my next issue, I guess. I don't like to mention it, and it's not necessarily something I even write about in my journal often, but unfortunately it has become something I have to include when I describe myself, because it influences so much of my life now, unfortunately but...my family and I were stabbed. A long time ago. But I DO talk about it when I get angry/sad about it. And it does effect my day-to-day life.
I think that's pretty much anything anyone would need to know that may prevent them from adding me....The only way I will not add someone if they are illiterate. Your journal entries have to make sense. Also, I don't like to read things like "Today I went to work. It was good. I had a ham and cheeze sandwhich. Susan told a really funny joke today..." or "Today I played Halo for 16 hours, my avatar fell in love with this other avatar..." and so on....So, if anyone is still interested, I am going to be active, and I want to have friends added when I start.

I've had this account for a while now and well sorta forgot about it. Actually just to day I remembered I had this account. So, decided to log in and see what's going on.

I used to use DJ a looong time ago and I have just recently come back to it. Anyway, here are a couple of things about me:
- I'm 25 and a native of New Orleans (Happy Mardi Gras, btw)
- I just moved to upstate NY to pursue a Masters Degree in Linguistics
- I speak fluent Spanish and a little German
- I read tarot cards and I'm starting to do it professionally

I haven't posted to one of these communities in a long, long time.
But I figured I'd throw a post or two out there and see who is around now. I update pretty regularly.
I'm 25, and I live in Minneapolis, MN. My life right now is consisting of ridiculous dates -- some good and some completely fucking horrible.
My posts usually range from one or two lines of a stupid idea I heard or something I thought was amusing to a lengthy personal post. It's fun, I swear.
